“We as artists have the ability thanks to social media to create our own exposure and generate income.”
Check out the interview with SHOWKA$E exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
SHOWKA$E: My journey into the entertainment biz started at a very early age. My dad was a blues drummer for over 30 years, so naturally he would teach me every second he got how to play the drums and in return I ended up joining a few notable drum lines. My mom was a singer in the church choir, my brother is a professional trumpet player, so music and performing ran in my blood.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
Social media in today’s world will always be the best and fastest way to promote and market your music. We have been given the opportunity to reach out to new fans to keep them engaged and involved in a movement. In addition to social media, I am always networking and getting out and going to events to keep my name relevant.
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
I think the future of music is at an all-time high where independent artists can thrive without the once needed help of a major label. We as artists have the ability thanks to social media to create our own exposure and generate income.
Where can we connect with you? Can you give us your social media links and where we can contact you?
