“I see myself where ever my journey leads me. As of now I see me growing on this journey. I really want my journey to lead me to having millions of people enjoying my music. The joy I get is from people vibe with my music and enjoying the feel of the music.”

Silly: Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
Witz: It all started at an early age with music. As I got older I started listening to influences such as Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, Pharrell, and Kanye West. I remember being so amazed at the music they would create. That kind of sparked my dream of making a dope mixtape/album. Then I met my brother/producer Scott Joplin Jr.; from there the rest is history.
What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
My best advice is to make what you feel and to never let your dream die. Make sure whatever you’re making is organic as it could be. Never be afraid to be different when creating. Also don’t be afraid to invest in your craft and to make that leap of faith.
What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
As of now my hardest challenges are balancing a lot of things outside of music. Time management is key when you have a music career. The good thing about challenges is that once you overcome them you grow. At this time I’ve grown a lot but still have some growing to do.
We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
What has been working for me strongly is social media and research for media outlets. Social media is still an important key of advertising and promotion. Having people who believing in your dreams are key. So shout out to everyone who believes in my dream and who support it.
Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
I’m from St. Louis and the fans are waiting on someone from my city to represent our sound. We have a lot of great artists in my city. As of now there is no major display of our artists here. At this time I feel a wave is coming through St. Louis that will take us to that level were we belong.
Where do you see yourself a year from today?
I see myself where ever my journey leads me. As of now I see me growing on this journey. I really want my journey to lead me to having millions of people enjoying my music. The joy I get is from people vibe with my music and enjoying the feel of the music.
Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
My biggest inspirations are my brothers and my family. They are a really big part of my drive. My loved ones inspire me to keep going. In this world I look up to my music inspirations Kanye, Cudi, Lupe, and Pharrell. Just not on a musical standpoint but on a character standpoint. They all inspired me in some way of building of my character.
How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
I’m currently listening to SBTRKT, Travis Scott, 2Chainz, Young Dolph, Alina Baraz, Toro Y Moi, and Chromeo just to name a few. I like what they’re doing in their own way. I believe right now a lot of people may have a lot of negative ideas of music coming out today. I believe there is a lot of good music out here today just finding it is the key.
