“Maintaining who you are and not becoming like others; just staying true to yourself.”
Check out the interview with Vossy V exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Vossy V: It all started for me being a fan of hip hop first and from then the rest is history.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
Word of mouth or social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
Maintaining who you are and not becoming like others; just staying true to yourself.
How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
There’s a lot of talent in the city of Memphis. I love this city to death. I grew up there. Shout out to everybody that got something going for themselves while I’m Cali living for the moment. What I don’t like about the music scene down there is that there’s not enough opportunities.
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
To be honest, I feel the way music is now there’s no telling how the future will be. Just keep grinding. Your time is going to come; don’t rush nothing.
What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Keep God first, keep doing you and being the best you know how to be. Don’t let nobody tell you that you can’t prove them wrong.
What inspires you to write your next song?
The situation I’m in or how I’m feeling about things or just listening to the beat vibing.
What are the steps you take to make a song?
Sticking to a topic, making sense, and delivering my style and swag the way I do me.
What do you think makes a great song?
How much originality and talent an artist has, what they’re talking about, and what’s the message they’re sending.
