“People will bring you down, the faster you drop them the faster you succeed.”
Skilly: Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
Twon Redd Hood: This all started in high school. A young blood from the hood moved out west to the Hunnits and ran into a lot of clowns and a lot of foes. D Mac Deluxe was one of the realist.
What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
Stay in school. These dumb ass rappers like Young Thug and 21 Savage are fake.
What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
Leaving stupid people were they need to be. People will bring you down, the faster you drop them the faster you succeed.
We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
Internet is best way to make good money. 60 shows a year, that’s good money, but no matter what you clean up on the internet.
Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
Phoenix is full of haters. There’s no other way to explain it. All these cats out here act like hoes when it comes to music. Everyone’s better then the next, no one can link up and make a banging ass track because their ego gets in the way. I work with a few good artists.
Where do you see yourself a year from today?
A year from now a success, full independent rap artist.
Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
My inspiration is my boy D Mac Deluxe.
How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
The music coming out nowadays is trash. It has no real in it. It’s just talk and that’s it. Young kids that don’t know nothing at all are running their mouth about things that they have never done. There’s no love no more. I can’t feel the music. it’s all a joke.
