“Don’t cruise down someone else’s road to riches.”
Check out the interview with Tommy Osiris exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
Tommy Osiris: I released my first three songs on Soundcloud in June of 2016. They all received positive reception and from there on out it’s been forward. Right now “$wank Papi” is my most popular song.
What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
Good music, originality, and Facebook ads.
What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
A worldwide profitable brand.
What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
I don’t think I’m there yet, but I would assume the two faced people and black balling.
What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
I’m from Detroit. Growing up I was into jazz and blues. My parents played a lot of sounds like that or similar, but right now I hear dudes like Snap Dogg and Tee Grizzley putting on for the city. I live in LA now, everybody here does their own thing with music.
What are some of advice you can give and share to other artists who are still trying to come up?
Stay original. Create your own lane. Don’t cruise down someone else’s road to riches.
What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?
The moment I took myself and pursuing a music career serious.
What is your inspiration?
I just want to make momma proud.
Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
Of course. It’s the digital age. Just believe in what you do, any day can be your time.
Where can we find you on social media?
All social media pages are under Tommy Osiris.
