“Currently unsigned so I hope to reestablish a new structured deal with my parent company, develop a vessel to carry new artists and family members under Renaissance Records, and finally be on the road elevating as Titus.”

Check out the interview with Titus exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.

Skilly: Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
Titus:
I naturally had the ability to create finding myself as an artist and establishing the core needed. I wanted to stay sharp and navigate through opportunity successfully. I survived the trap, went off to college, and came home with a business degree. Matching these experiences up with ambition I created Renaissance Records and never looked back.

What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
Be a student, then a teacher, then a master. So many people are lead off of others success stories not knowing the dark sides of their failures and challenges. So many get into this music industry and haven’t spent the time, money, and energy developing their crafts, tools, and ideas to even walk in the light of their dreams.

What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
Allocation, timing, and resources. I’ve had so much in front of me and timing wasn’t right. I had money and opportunity on the table and the wrong resources and people in line. So learning and leading by examples, trials, and enough bruises you learn how to talk, walk, and run in perspective while pacing and planning for this dream to become my reality.

We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
Unless you have a deal, finances, and a structured team I’ve found in today’s time to utilize the internet and have a strong enough scent to make the traffic come in. There are so many tools, unlimited information, and someone else like you or needing/wanting your talents to combine with their goals and dreams in some fashion or another.

Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
I’m originally from Sarasota, my hometown is jumping with so much talent. I’ve been in Orlando for a minute now and have established my name. The curse I can say is that we as a population haven’t figured out the art of unity so you have random and well lit sparks but no national storm or threats as of yet.

Where do you see yourself a year from today?
Currently unsigned so I hope to reestablish a new structured deal with my parent company, develop a vessel to carry new artists and family members under Renaissance Records, and finally be on the road elevating as Titus. With the music and focus I have now I am truly prepared to launch and reintroduce myself.

Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
God is and has always been my greatest source of life. My mother has carried my heaviest weights and I’ve always aimed to make her smile for once in her life given her placement on this rock. My kids and my wife as well. These are my insertions to my backbone as I turn off my personal switch and turn on as an artist known to the world as Titus.

How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
Music today is so experimental. It is a continuous testing phase to discover what’s next. You have options within options with streaming and availability. It’s hard to separate entertainment anymore from reality and with the uncertainties you have to participate in an attached artist, sound, or direction.
