“We started our journey as kids rapping off the phone and Soundcloud was a hot rapping app that was out at the time. That’s what we used and eventually we bought a computer and mic.”
Check out the interview with Tazmanian exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Tazmanian: We started our journey as kids rapping off the phone and Soundcloud was a hot rapping app that was out at the time. That’s what we used and eventually we bought a computer and mic.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
We post a lot on social media and basically share it. We develop a fan base by traveling to other cities when we can to hand out CDs.
What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
Criticism and group members who you came up with that don’t keep it real. You gotta let them go and keep your head on a swivel. For criticism we don’t really pay it no mind because we’re still doing our music, our way, and how we wanna.
How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
You gotta find the scene you’re looking for. What I like about it is that the area is good for shooting scenes, but what I don’t like about it is other rappers have already used it for their videos.
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
It’s going to be quite interesting but twisted. We gotta bring a new era and vibe to hip hop. They can be a part of it by putting out better music and vibes.
What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Keep working, keep doing you 24/7. It’s going to pay off someday.
What inspires you to write your next song?
The struggle we endure. Once you get that flow and you hear that beat, it’s a done deal.
What are the steps you take to make a song?
Find a good beat, get a good flow, a catchy hook, get your mind right, good lyrics, and you’re cooking with hot water.
What do you think makes a great song?
A great hook, good punchlines, and lyrics give the fans something they can relate and vibe to.
Where can we connect with you? Can you give us your social media links and where we can contact you?
