“Just keep pushing no matter what the cost is. At the end of the day, you will gain something out of it. Don’t hang around people that’s not for you, be yourself and enjoy life even if you haven’t reached that level of success.”

SKILLY: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Crunkspitta: Everything started when I was young trying to pursue my dreams as a dobeboy. I attended school but wasn’t interested at the time, so when things got hard or seem a little too much for me, I reached upon a local job to get me through. I’ve been making music since the age of 16 but didn’t get anywhere, so I gave up. But later on in my early 20’s, I began writing, that probably would’ve been a new chapter in my life. Music groups put me out there. And further, on around the age of 29, I recorded my first single, with a featured artist.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
I use music groups, streaming, promotional tools and the ultimate grind that is. I am a thinking man and a hard worker.
What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
The greatest challenge is getting paid for my music and life itself. I overcome that by seeking greater knowledge in the music industry and meditation.
How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
Well, it’s hard in Denmark, South Carolina. A lot of ups and downs and you really have to travel, but I’m blessed to say I’ve made it this far and it’s more to it than what it seems. I now reside in Barnwell, South Carolina.
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
I think the future of music will be a challenge. You get young and you get older, but you can’t place a number on good music. More artist can be a part of the music scene by reaching back and grabbing others and plus networking that is within the community, at work or at venues, which I have never been to one.
What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Just keep pushing no matter what the cost is. At the end of the day, you will gain something out of it. Don’t hang around people that’s not for you, be yourself and enjoy life even if you haven’t reached that level of success. Create stability and momentum. A level of success has its top and bottom.
What inspires you to write your next song?
The last song. I got to go harder than the last one. I got to challenge myself. I’m a thinking man, 🤔lol. Wifey keep me going a little too.
What are the steps you take to make a song?
Let’s see, I got to hear the beat first, then I come up with the hook, then I go and do my thang, now the right way will be to hear, write and then execute. Either way I must conquer.
What do you think makes a great song?
Motivation, experience, talent, mood, hunger, dreams, and positivity.
