“Stay relevant no matter what. Don’t ever stop making music. If you drop a mixtape Friday. You need to be recording a new song Monday at least. Because everyone is doing it. Its always new underground rappers trying to eat.”

SKILLY: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
STB: I started out writing poetry and essays in school. And just making up raps around the house. Then I met a dude from my former team and he encouraged me to take it seriously. Ever since then I’ve been ongoing. And that was 2 yrs ago.

What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
Yeah, you gotta get out there the streets. Mingle, pass out your mixtapes, pass out your business cards. Do toy drives. Do open mics. Whatever out there for the artist you should be on it.

What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
Honestly, whatever God allows me to become I’m satisfied. So nothing in particular.

What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
Everything costs and it’s so expensive it’s not funny.

What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
I’m from Philly. In my city, it’s rough. Everyone is tryna rap these days. So the music scene is overwhelming. Overall, it’s a free-spirited place. There are lots of opportunities out there. You just gotta keep your options open you know.

What are some of the advice you can give and share with other artists who are still trying to come up?
Stay relevant no matter what. Don’t ever stop making music. If you drop a mixtape Friday. You need to be recording a new song Monday at least. Because everyone is doing it. Its always new underground rappers trying to eat.

What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?
When my new team Sparkup Music accepted me with open arms.

What is your inspiration?
My friends and my mom who died 4 days before Mother’s Day this year. 5-10-17, and also my girl.

Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
