“Encourage yourself at all times and surround yourself with positive people.”

Check out the interview with Sanise Damone exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.

Skilly: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
Sanise Damone:
It started as doing a jingle for my clothing line. I wrote one in a parking lot because someone upset me. The others I collabed with a good friend. I went from writing to showcases to videos to parties and having my own party showcases and video release parties.

What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
If you like to party, throw parties. If you like to perform, have performances. Do what fits you and keep the people happy at the same time.

What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
One of the best entertainers of all time.

What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
Stay focused. If you don’t focus on your craft you get distracted. You won’t get paid the bucks you feel you can attract.

What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
In my city there is a night life. The music scene is of every genre. There’s no set trap, no set pop. It’s everything combined.

What are some of advice you can give and share to other artists who are still trying to come up?
Encourage yourself at all times and surround yourself with positive people.

What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?
Getting to perform at the Grammys Countdown.

What is your inspiration?
My inspiration are the people that said I couldn’t make it. I still have a ways to go, but to be unstoppable is a must.

Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
Yes. You have to have heart. Talent is good, but your heart or belief will get you farther when you don’t know what to do.
