Check out the interview with Panduh exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.

Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Panduh:
The beginning of my journey for making music all started in high school. I never knew I wanted to make music until I was a sophomore. Fast forward to my senior year. As I gained more friends we all had this plan to create our own little rap group and laughed about all the stuff we planned; of course everyone went their separate way and we all kind of split apart. I still continue to freestyle rap and write my own lyrics to beats.

What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
I am a very social person, I love to go out and tell friends to listen to my stuff. I like to post my Soundcloud link on social media and let all my friends know to spread my music.

What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
The greatest challenge I am facing is the volume of people trying to become big in this business. I learn to overcome it by being myself and continue to do what I love.

How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
The music scene is very mixed up considering I live on an island. There’s a lot of different types of music. The thing I like is that everyone has their own taste in music and nobody is afraid to show it. The thing I don’t like about it is that some people don’t appreciate others tastes at all and that is just upsetting to me.

Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
The future of music is going to be even more spread out worldwide because of catchy tunes and whack ass lyrics. I feel artists can be a part of it by putting more time in and continue to push their dreams to the limit

What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Stick to what you love, just be you, don’t let anyone put you down, and continue to pursue your dream.

What inspires you to write your next song?
A lot of things inspire me to write my music, the person I am loves to joke around and make people laugh, and the other side of me has a very serious touch to relate to my daily life and what I go through.

What are the steps you take to make a song?
Find a beat/inspiration, repeat the beat, write lyrics, and make sure they make sense and sound good at the same time, and put everything together. I like to do a test run which is letting friends and family listen to it.

What do you think makes a great song?
A great song is made up of what the artist has to say in his/her lyrics. If you listen to the tone of voice as well, you can hear how much passion is in the song itself.
