Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
ODrama Rush:
I made my first beat in Cairo, Illinois when I was 15. My little brother used to freestyle, so we put the two together and came up with Drop Squad. We started off with just 2 of us. Then as we got better and kept working on our craft. We gained a few more friends on our journey. I haven’t been to school for music at all, it just came to me naturally. I feel it was meant for us to be in the music industry because of how music fell in our hands.

What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
Never stop doing what you love. People will do anything to take your happiness and love from you. Stay focused and keep your eyes on the price and remember where you came from.

What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
Staying focus and organizing everything. Getting people to believe in my dream if it doesn’t benefit them. Just doing music alone is tough, not to mention the business side.

We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
Videos, social media, music websites, and networking.

Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
I’m from Cairo, Illinois. The artists are very talented and have a long history of music. Some in band and some just making beats and rapping. My city is just waiting on the right moment to be discovered and the world will not be ready for it. Cairo is a very small town with a lot of good people there. It’s the slums to other, but it’s the place we call home. There’s not many fans but the support is equal.

Where do you see yourself a year from today?
A successful producer and talent scout. A father to my kids and a mogul to my hometown.

Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
My siblings. My family is the biggest inspiration in my life. My big brother and my uncle is who I look up to. They gave me the backbone I have today. I know how to be a man from their examples.

How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
I like the music coming out right now. Music is changing and we have to change with it but remain original. The music coming out now doesn’t have originality but it’s good to hear in clubs and etc.
