“Listen to nobody , do what your heart feels , surround yourself with like-minded people who will help push you forward and want you to win, and don’t be afraid to be different / the change, music always needs something new and refreshing and just be consistent, work hard, be fearless, and always know you deserve to be heard.”

How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
It all started in high school, I used to freestyle for fun with a couple of my friends, but never took it seriously, it really all started when I moved back to NY and met another artist at one of my jobs named Liric, I freestyled with him and he encouraged me to write , we met up one day, did our first song together and the rest was history. I immediately fell in love with music, even more, the process of recording, the creativity of writing a song, all the sounds, EVERYTHING! I just the love the visual mental image the words from a song can give you. It’s crazy how a bunch of people can listen to the same song and envision it different or exactly the same.

What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
Well, I’ve used a few some successful, some not. Social media is obviously one of the best ones. I’m honestly still learning how to utilize a lot of my sources but aye gotta fail a few times to learn you know. I find my best promotion being when I go to shows and really connect with the people. I feel like the fact you can actually interact in person gives people more of a sense of what kind of artist you are, and just by impression will give your music a listen , but I try to Promote whenever I can pass out business cards, social media, in person, whatever I can find that will help I’ll try at least once and see how it pans out.

What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
I think one of the greatest challenges in today’s entertainment is that music is so disposable now, like the attention span of the audiences now is so small it’s crazy. You can come out with a great song and they’re already asking for the next. I feel like this generation doesn’t appreciate some songs 100% for what they are, like really dissect the lyrics and meaning of songs feel me? My way of overcoming it is by putting out music and bodies of work that will have longevity and not be some one-hit wonder song you won’t even know or care about in 5 years. I strongly believe music with a lot more time and care taken to the approach will last longer and be more impactful than the quick hits that come and go nowadays.

How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
Man, I’m from New York…need I say more? The music scene is amazing out here. So many talented artists and so many different sounds. It feels like New York is finally coming back (I feel like we never left). A lot of people said we fell off for awhile I disagree though we have many artist that are talented but not mainstream so don’t get recognized so I guess that’s why people say that. What I’d say I don’t like is everybody in New York swears they’re a rapper so when you tell someone you’re an artist, they might look at you like “oh he’s just another wannabe rapper” or some “SoundCloud rapper” what I’ve learned is you really have to let your work speak for itself out here.

Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
Well I thinks it’s gonna be amazing ( cus I’ll be part of it ) haha, Nah for real though I think it’ll be good, although this generation has a short attention span as I mentioned before , you’ll always have those artists that stand out and just are the special man and will always be an inspiration for the future , we just can’t forget about our roots man like the golden era , I feel every artist should always study the history of the culture to really appreciate it for what it is.

What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Listen to nobody , do what your heart feels , surround yourself with like-minded people who will help push you forward and want you to win , and don’t be afraid to be different / the change, music always needs something new and refreshing and just be consistent, work hard, be fearless, and always know you deserve to be heard … I should take my own advice shit even I forget sometimes, but for real you have to be your biggest fan and believe in yourself to the fullest.

What inspires you to write your next song?
I go off feel, based on the way I’m feeling , I’ll usually write a song that relates to what I’m feeling or going through at the moment , some are honestly random ideas too , I might watch a show and the scenario gives me an idea or just life man, living we just meet people , go through things and just see things different each and everyday . That’s my inspiration.

What are the steps you take to make a song?
I always do the chorus first, I feel like that’s the foundation of any song and 99% of the time what the song is all about, once I get that down, I feed off it and pick from it and add ideas to the verses.

What do you think makes a great song?
I used to think just being catchy, which you can say is kinda true, but I really think what makes a great song is when you really put yourself in it, like when people hear it and feel like you’re really feeling what you’re saying, being yourself and definitely making what you say come to alive is key.
