“For the kids, don’t listen to people. What they say kills your vibe. You need to follow your heart and do what makes you happy. It’s your future, not theirs. Follow your dreams and you’ll make it in life.”
Check out the interview with Lil Lobo exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
Lil Lobo: It all start when I was 12 years old when I began to write music. At 13 I showed my music to my teachers and they love my work. When I was 17 I was rapping with my homies and the three of us always said we were gonna get big one day. Now I’m 20 trying to get big as a rapper. I’ve been writing music and rapping for 8 years.
What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
I never had the support of my family. They said too many times I ain’t shit. For the kids, don’t listen to people. What they say kills your vibe. You need to follow your heart and do what makes you happy. It’s your future, not theirs. Follow your dreams and you’ll make it in life.
What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
The hardest challenges? I don’t have none.
We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
I put my music all over the internet using YouTube, Soundcloud, and Facebook.
Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
I’m from Chicago, but I moved to Indiana when I started putting my music out there. A lot people were telling me they like my music.
Where do you see yourself a year from today?
I see myself being famous as a big rapper, rapping all over the world, recording my songs and music.
Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
My biggest inspiration is my favorite rapper of all time Wiz Khalifa because I love his music and he inspired me to write my own raps and start rapping too.
How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
The music coming today? Yea I like it if it has a good beat to it.
