“There’s definitely not a huge music scene here, it makes you have to build your own platforms and look beyond your city limits which actually has proven to be a blessing in disguise.”
Check out the interview with Jtronius exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
Jtronius: Both of my parents were musicians, so music chose me. It started before I started. I was surrounded by music all the time and I began to mock what I was hearing; so essence I am a self-taught heaven sent instrument.
What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
First you have to love what you do and the love will come back to you. Network hard and never quit.
What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
A legendary musician and motivator for the masses.
What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
Everyone has their own agenda and only time will tell what their agenda is. Sometimes it feels like this business has turned into a numbers game and not a platform for the truly gifted and talented musicians and entertainers.
What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
In my city if you aren’t a trap rapper you ain’t happening. There’s definitely not a huge music scene here, it makes you have to build your own platforms and look beyond your city limits which actually has proven to be a blessing in disguise.
What are some of advice you can give and share to other artists who are still trying to come up?
Create your own lane and stick with it. If you aren’t having fun doing it, don’t do it anymore. This business is not for the faint of heart, you must stay sharp and motivated on the grind.
What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?
When I found my sound.
What is your inspiration?
I have so many, but the main one at this time is to show my daughter how to turn her dreams into realities.
Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
If you want it bad enough, then you can achieve it if it’s meant for you.
Where can we find you on social media?
