Skilly: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
Hilltown Mafia:
We grew up in Opelousas, LA. We used to freestyle amongst ourselves. This was around the early 90’s. Then around the early 2k’s we had a little group we called Supastarz. Years later here we are, Hilltown Mafia under HD Don of All Dons and indie label Hilltown Records.

What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
The usual music apps and radio shows.

What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
A good rapper/songwriter/producer.

What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
Getting put out there so the world can here you.

What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
Ratchet. New Orleans, Atlanta, Texas type music. Then there’s the r&b/pop field.

What are some of advice you can give and share to other artists who are still trying to come up?
Put god first, be patient, and work hard.

What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?

What is your inspiration?
Lil Wayne, Boosie, Jay Z, NWA, etc. And above all, just to get the world to believe in god.

Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
Yes. If that’s their dream, they put God first, and work hard at it.
