“I’m not the one to usually broadcast projected outcomes of a year’s hard work, especially in a business like the music industry due to all the variables. I just work hard and leave the rest to the universe.”
Check out the interview with DeRoyale exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
DeRoyale: You just have to keep working and make smart moves.
What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
There are many challenges in this career choice, though all can be overcome. You just have to maintain a focus.
We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
Obviously social media is a good route along with third party distribution companies or labels. Apps can be effective also.
Where do you see yourself a year from today?
I’m not the one to usually broadcast projected outcomes of a year’s hard work, especially in a business like the music industry due to all the variables. I just work hard and leave the rest to the universe.
Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
Some of my biggest inspirations are Lil Wayne and Coldplay. A lot of music doesn’t consist of content on a consistent basis as I have noticed in the majority of these artists’ music content.
How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
I would say there’s a substantial amount of decent talent still in circulation. There’s definitely music that’s in rotation in today’s music world that I can rock to.
