SKILLY: Tell us where this all began. What is your history in the music scene?
CV: It all started in a small city of Gilmer, TX. I used to rap and make music for fun until I discovered I was very talented and needed to take it seriously as my job and make a career of it.
What are the best ways to promote yourself as an artist? Any tips you can give us?
The best way to promote me is through my music and my image overall. It’s as simple as that.
What do you ultimately want to become in your career?
I’ve already become what I wanted to be, which is a mature man and artist for my fans and family.
What is the hardest thing about being in the music business?
The hardest thing about being in the music industry is who to trust and who not to. Also knowing the business inside and out is challenging.
What is it like in your city? What is the music scene like, and how is it like living there overall?
My city is OK. There’s a lot of jealousy and some support. That’s why I make sure I stand out.
What are some of the advice you can give and share with other artists who are still trying to come up?
Stay focused and determined. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t make it. The one thing that can stop you, is you!
What is the best thing that’s ever happened in your career?
I’ve recently signed a deal with Coast2coast. I also have performed at BET Weekend in ATL. I also auditioned for America’s Got Talent.
What is your inspiration?
My inspirations are my wife my kids, and also my mom. But most importantly, it’s God.
Do you feel anyone can be successful now in today’s world of music?
No, I don’t. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, as well as determination and heart. You’ve got to grind every day.
