“Build a website, get email addresses, upload to CD Baby, and never turn down an opportunity to promote the word through song.”
Check out the interview with Cornelious exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Cornelious: The church.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
Giving it away for email addresses.
What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
Getting people to play my music on the radio as an indie; they still prefer you to be with a label.
How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
Music is a reflection of society and unfortunately it’s going to the pits of hell. Christ through his redeeming nature wants to save some, though they’re being more creative it’s more provocative and sexual.
What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
First seek a relationship with Christ, get involved in church ministry, and through the Holy Spirit he will lead you. Build a website, get email addresses, upload to CD Baby, and never turn down an opportunity to promote the word through song.
What inspires you to write your next song?
Seeing men and women having a destiny that will lead to hell.
What are the steps you take to make a song?
Prayer meaning council with Christ through his word to get the best lyrics that fit the mood of the music because he made it.
What do you think makes a great song?
Music that is Christ centered and relates to the people for spiritual change.
Where can we connect with you? Can you give us your social media links and where we can contact you?
