“The music scene in my hometown is different now because when I started I taught myself everything and no one wanted put in that work and thought it was boring. But now everyone wants to do it.”
Check out the interview with Budda Beats exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.
Skilly: How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Budda Beats: I have always liked music. I figured it was a challenge to play the piano and create music that’ll connect with others versus being the average kid at 9 years old playing outside getting in trouble. And truthfully, that’s when I taught myself how to play the piano, make beats, and producing music.
What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
A very creative way to promote my music is I use my own, and other people’s, feelings and emotions and put them in my music so others can relate or just get a better understanding why I created what I created.
What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
Evolving with time is one of the greatest challenge. The way I overcome it is by staying ahead of time.
How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
The music scene in my hometown is different now because when I started I taught myself everything and no one wanted put in that work and thought it was boring. But now everyone wants to do it. It doesn’t bother me because I’m gifted and talented. My gift is going to always make room for me.
Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
I believe it’s going be a mixture of old school and new school. Basically new school beats with old school flows.
What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Keep God first and anything is possible. Keep striving and pushing for what you want. Think big.
What inspires you to write your next song?
People’s emotions and feelings. The laughs, the cries, the sun, the rain. Everything inspires me. Other artists, producers. Everybody.
What are the steps you take to make a song?
I create the music first. Once I make the beats, I start writing and 9 out of 10 I’ll give the beat and ideas to one of my artists; that’s when the magic takes place. After that’s done, I mix and master it and share with to the world.
What do you think makes a great song?
