“The hardest challenges for me is being my own graphic designer, director, editor as well as artist, promoter, and social media handler. I basically do it all when it comes to my brand.”

Check out the interview with Anthony exclusively on Skilly Magazine Online.

Skilly: Where did this all start? Tell us about your journey in the entertainment business.
Anthony:
My journey started when I was 17. I was a sophomore in high school. I always kept a composition book of lyrics with me everywhere I went because I was always writing. So one day I got it inside my mind to buy a $15.00 headset mic from Radio Shack and started recording from my own laptop and I guess you can say the rest is history.

What would be your biggest piece of advice for the young kids out there trying to do what you do?
Just do you! I’m always saying this because it took me a while to just be happy with me and who I am and how I want my art portrayed. So I just say do what makes you happy. If it’s in your heart and you have your mind set on it, who can stop you?

What are some of the hardest challenges and tasks in your position?
The hardest challenges for me is being my own graphic designer, director, editor as well as artist, promoter, and social media handler. I basically do it all when it comes to my brand. I just say it’s crazy challenging to juggle all that I do because I do a lot.

We all know the entertainment business is very tough, but what do you find is the best way to promote and advertise your music?
Social media. It has its way of getting your work out to everyone! Especially when I want to find new music from other artists who I admire and respect. I always hit up social media to see what I can find.

Tell us about your city. How are the artists and the fans?
My city is amazing. Biloxi, Mississippi is so live and fun. Everybody has their own hustle and is trying to get their stuff out there. The fact that the coast supports artists out here wanting to do what they love says a lot.

Where do you see yourself a year from today?
I see myself still doing me, but at a new heights. I want to reach more, inspire more, and bring out the inner passion that is in people to go out and strive for what they want out of life.

Who and what were your biggest inspirations? Who do you look up to in today’s world?
I know this is going to sound weird, but it’s going to totally make sense. I’m a music lover and there are lots of people who inspire me, but when it comes to artists who I look up to they range from Will.i.am, Todrick Hall, Keke Palmer, Dawn Richard, Tayla Parx, Roses Gabor, and Jasmine Villegas.

How do you feel about the music coming out today? Do you like it?
I love it because the internet has made a way to bring all types of music to the forefront and that’s what I love. As a matter of fact, shout out to iTunes and Apple Music for being my destination at going to get any type of music I want to enjoy, all the while supporting that artist. You can catch me on iTunes buying a lot of music!
