#3. Have an official website

I’ve been saying this for years. It is critical for an artist to have their own website so they can capture their fans data. Most artists stay on social media as if they have officially owned their fans. Just because they are your friend on Facebook doesn’t mean you will be able to contact them and promote your music to them forever. What will happen if Facebook shuts down? How will you then sell to that specific fan? The answer is you can’t! Get an official website and make sure your fans engage directly with you, and give you their info so you can really be in touch forever!
